Vision and Research Document

The HealthSupport research agenda aims to address applied scientific research. The personalized networked healthcare that is targeted (with a focus for care and prevention) calls for a care consumer centered approach. The research and applications envisioned by the SRA of HealthSupport aim to decrease costs and increase the quality of care, but also increase quality of life and improve the access to care.
The envisioned research is plotted along the following interrelated strategies: Strengthening the self-management of the care consumer and increase the productivity and improving the co-ordination among healthcare professionals and voluntary care givers. These strategies are mapped onto specific areas of interests of the HealthSupport SRA. Furthermore in the SRA a distinction is made into 3 perspectives. These are (1) the care consumer and voluntary care giver, (2) the healthcare professionals and (3) the healthcare managers
